Emily is a Chief Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri. She has special interest in Preventive Gynaecological Oncology, a field on which she has left indelible footprints. Teamwork for her is always the recipe for success

Mabel Ekot is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She is passionate about quality of care in health service delivery. Her vision is to touch lives by her actions.

Jeremiah Israel

Treasurer

Israel Jeremiah is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University, and a researcher with special interest in Feto-Maternal Medicine and Reproductive Health. He believes it is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.

Becoming a SOGON Member at the National level.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

There are five categories of membership:

1. Full Member is medical doctor who has completed a post graduate training in gynaecology and obstetrics and registered by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria as a specialist in the specialty.

2. Life Member is a full member who have paid up-front a lump sum fee equivalent to 20 years of current subscription.

3. Senior Member is a full member nominated and approved by the executive council haven been an active/financial member continuously for at least 10years and now retired from active service, or has attained the age of 70 years.

4. Associate Member is a resident in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

5. Honorary Member (Fellowship) refer to men and women irrespective of their profession who are not ordinarily eligible to be members of SOGON but who have distinguished themselves in service to women and the newborn or the general public at large.

1. Full Member is a fellow of any of the recognized colleges in the Faculty of Obstetrics and gynaecology registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and who has been inducted as a SOGON member by SOGON during her annual general meeting.

2. Senior Member is a full member nominated and approved by the executive council haven been an active/financial member continuously for at least 10years and now retired from active service or has attained the age of 70 years.

3. Associate Member is a resident in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
